2. How do I book a trip?
Just reach out via the contact form on our site. Let us know whether you're interested in a fishing charter, wildlife excursion, or production expedition, and we’ll follow up by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
3. What should I bring?
Bring sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), non-slip shoes, your own water/snacks, and layered clothing for wind protection. For wildlife trips, we recommend bringing binoculars and cameras with long lenses. For filming productions, if you need help to acquire specialist equipment, please chat to us. If you're prone to seasickness, consider taking anti-nausea medication beforehand. Our crew will brief you before departure and provide onboard support throughout the trip.
4. Do you provide gear and permits?
Yes! We supply all fishing tackle and bait, and we can handle local permits upon request. Just bring your enthusiasm.
5. Can I keep my catch?
Absolutely. You may keep fish you catch, as long as it's in compliance with our local regulations. We can take you to the local fishmonger back onshore who can clean and bag your catch for you to take home. We follow sustainable catch practices and respect species-specific limits, as set out by Department of Forestries, Fisheries, and Environment. You can find the Marine Recreational Fishing Regulations in South Africa on the SAAMBR website. If you prefer catch-and-release, we can assist with safe handling and photo opportunities before releasing your fish back into the ocean.
6. Are kids and families welcome?
Definitely! Salt Life Charters are family-friendly. We’ve hosted families with children of all ages and always prioritise safety and fun for everyone on board.
7. What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
