The weather and sea conditions are pretty stable throughout the year, meaning its the ideal place to learn how to fish, SCUBA dive, surf, sail, SUP, and much more. Deep Sea Fishing

Well, it probably comes as no surprise that this is our top favourite ocean activity. Mossel Bay truly provides one of the best recreational angling opportunities along the coast. It is a productive bay for a variety of an angler's dream catches. Mossel Bay's climate is mild and it boasts ideal fishing conditions through much of the year. All levels of fishers have a great experience and this part of the coast offers the perfect environment for inexperienced anglers.

SCUBA Diving

Mossel Bay is a fantastic place to learn to SCUBA dive. You'll be taught by some of the the best SCUBA diving Mossel Bay instructors. The dive shops offer a chance to just try SCUBA, or work all the way up to instructor level. Qualified divers can book a shore or boat entry dive to one of Mossel Bay's various marine life rich dive sites. Dive with shysharks, catsharks, octopus, ragged-tooth sharks, yellowbelly rockcod, and many more inquisitive species.

Shark cage diving

Unleash your most fearless side. Come face-to-face with the top of the ocean's food chain with a thrilling encounter with white sharks. White Shark Africa offer the Garden Route's only shark cage diving experience. You don't need diving experience. Just the ability to hold your breath for a few seconds when you duck your masked face underwater to view these beautiful beasts up close. Whale watching

Whale watching is one of the most family-friendly adventure activities in the Garden Route. Each winter brings in spectacular pods of migrating southern right whales and humpback whales, often with their calves. The temperate coastal waters of southern Africa provides the perfect breeding and nursing grounds for these whales. Mossel Bay boasts great numbers of these animals, plus four different dolphins species, including the largest dolphins species in the world; orca. No matter what season it is, exploring Mossel Bay on a whale watching boat is a wonderful adventure. Surfing

There's something exhilarating about riding a wave to the beach. Your adrenaline pumps as the waves touches your toes and you forget your daily problems. Surfing provides an opportunity to get away from everything and everyone, or to socialise with like-minded individuals in the surf community. And with waves in every corner of the world, it's a sport you can take part in on every coastline you travel to. Mossel Bay has a couple of surf schools where you can book surf lessons, or rent surfboards and bodyboards.

Kayaking is a fun adventure activity and an all-around excellent workout. Not only does it provide you with a host of health benefits, but spending time on the water soothes the soul. When you kayak in the typically calm inlet of Mossel Bay, you'll often have encounters with ocean wildlife such as whales, dolphins, seals, turtles, and seabirds.
